Laura Ashley Competition Seeks Inspiration by Design

Laura Ashley is offering both budding and established designers the chance to make their creative mark by entering the Laura Ashley Design Service Competition.

Entrants are provided with a client brief and a bare-bones description of three rooms within their home - kitchen, living room and guest room. There are no set dimensions, features or project budget, so designers really are given free reign to express their clients' personalities and their own creativity with products from the Laura Ashley home furnishings range.

Professional designers must submit mood boards and designs for two of the three rooms, while amateurs need only complete one. Three prizes, of Laura Ashley giftcards with a value of up to ?5000, will be awarded in each category and winners will be invited to Laura Ashley's head office for a photo shoot and to receive their award.

With so many gorgeous things available in the Laura Ashley home furnishings range, the main difficulty that entrants to the competition will encounter is deciding which to choose for their room designs. Bedroom furniture for the guest bedroom might take on the antiqued elegance of the Henshaw range or the cottage charm of the Bramley, all enhanced by gorgeous wallpapers and fabrics in the prints and patterns for which Laura Ashley is revered: would you choose the soothing elegance of the eau de nil Melbury or the whimsically pretty Portland Amethyst; the warmth of the Gosford Silk Cranberry or the rich drama of the gold-hued St Germain?
